There's more to winter sport on ice than hockey!
If your looking for a fun winter sport for your kids that won't break the bank - CURLING is the answer!
The average cost for a child to play hockey ranges from $1000 (House league)
to $10,000 (travelling team) including registration, equipment and other expenses.
The cost to curl is $95 with no other equipment to buy.
No risk - try before you buy!
The first two sessions (Oct 26 and November 2) are FREE.
Once your child decides they want to continue, the $95 fee is due
The club supplies brushes and sliders and, of course, the curling rocks.
The Club has two types of rocks:
Little Rocks - these rocks are much lighter than regular curling rocks and are used to let younger kids have a much better feel for the game. As they become stronger and more proficient with age, they will move up to the
Regulation Rocks - these are the regular weight and size curling rocks.
There are three divisions based on age (as of Oct 1):
Little Rocks - age 8-12
Bantam - ages 13-15
Junior - ages 16-19
All a young curler needs is a helmet (a hockey or bike helmet is fine), a clean pair of indoor running shoes and to dress warmly.
Instruction is provided by Member volunteers.
