New Volunteer Requirement

Our Membership Committee—made up of both board and non-board members—has been working hard to bring the energy and joy back to the club. Part of that effort involves encouraging everyone to take a more active role in our shared space. This season, the committee is introducing a 10-hour volunteer requirement per member. While that might sound like a lot at first, we promise it will be easy—and even enjoyable!

Ways to Get Involved

• Helping at events • Bartending • Assisting in the kitchen • Decorating the club for holidays or events • End-of-season clean-up • Supporting league operations • Participating in Learn to Curl and Learn Squash • Providing food items for bonspiels or social gatherings.

All volunteer opportunities will be posted on the club website, where you’ll be able to sign up easily.

When logged in using your Username & Password, look at the main menu at the top of the website. Hover over Member's Home, then Member Information then Volunteer Signup

Can’t Volunteer?

We understand that not everyone may be able to volunteer. If that's the case, you can choose to pay out your hours at a rate of $10 per hour. That said, we truly hope members will see this as more than just a requirement—it's an opportunity to be part of the club’s growth, spirit, and sense of community.

Why This Matters

With so many different leagues and schedules, it can be hard to connect with fellow members. This new program gives us a great reason to come together, contribute, and make the club an even better place for everyone. We’re looking forward to a fun, active, and community-driven season ahead!

Warm regards,

Nicole Dunn Vice President & Volunteer Coordinator
On behalf of the Membership Committee Smiths Falls Curling & Squash Club
